About Arousa Charter

Your perfect day
on the Arousa estuary,
onboard with a skipper..

Arousa Charter is the private skippered boat rental we always wished existed in Galicia's Rías Baixas. One boat, one private day, no shared groups. A licensed professional skipper who knows every inch of the ría and picks the best coves based on wind, tide and your mood.

We sail from Vilanova de Arousa, right in the heart of Albariño wine country. We'll take you to Illa de Arousa, the Areoso sandbank, Punta Cabalo lighthouse, the mussel rafts — or wherever you want. Wakeboarding, paddle surf, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing or a quiet cruise. You choose, we steer.

What they tell us back at the dock

A day
they remember.

We'd wanted to see Illa de Arousa by sea for years and we finally did it the right way. Left Vilanova at 10, snorkeling at Punta Cabalo, lunch on a terrace in A Illa, wakeboard back at sunset. Unforgettable.

Booked the full day with our two teenage kids — they wakeboarded for two hours straight while my wife and I had paddle surf and a swim in the Areoso. The skipper found us a perfect calm spot and the seafood lunch was outstanding.

A half day with the family, perfect to discover the island of Arousa and the Areoso sandbank. The skipper was very professional, the kids loved the paddle. We'll be back next year!

Early fishing trip, two friends and me. The skipper knew exactly where the fish was and we came back with four sea bass. Then we had lunch in Vilanova eating what we hadn't caught.

  • No. It's an open day boat. There is a freshwater rear shower to rinse off after a swim. At land stops (Vilanova, A Illa, A Toxa) there are toilets at the harbours and restaurants.
